Dr. Grimmett is currenty practicing and accepting new clients at the Vancouver Racquets Club. He shares his clinic time between the Vancouver Racquets Club and Main Street Physiotherapy. Dr. James Grimmett has been an active chiropractor for 27 years and has worked in clinics throughout Canada and New Zealand. He has had the opportunity to treat thousands of patients, including professional and Olympic athletes, while gaining a wealth of clinical experience.
Dr. Grimmett is an instructor and provider of Active Release Techniques® (ART)® and has recently received his DNS (Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization) certification. He has found ART® and DNS to be especially effective for treating long-standing or recurring problems involving the musculoskeletal system (e.g. muscle, joint, nerve or other soft tissue). Dr. Grimmett is also a certified injury prevention consultant for BACKSAFE®, which provides health and safety training for such companies as Air Canada and Xerox, as well as NASA.
Passionate about his profession, Dr. Grimmett is dedicated to diagnosing and treating the specific causes and symptoms of each patient’s condition. His approach to treatment focuses on the principle that optimal joint function is dependent on proper soft tissue function, and vice versa.
He has found ART and DNS to complement his assessment and treatment, especially for long standing or recurring problems where significant muscle or other soft tissue involvement is present.
Emphasizing DNS again, Dr. Grimmett has found this work to be a large part of the rehabilitative exercises targeted on improving strength and flexibility.
